There hasn’t been much development for HOY Studios itself. On the individual level I do have some things to share with you though.  After a couple months of waiting, I finally got a response from BakitWhy.com in regards to my interest of becoming a contributer.  I’m going for the position of regional contributer and can’t wait to start working on projects for them. Unfortunately this is going to further separate my attention from this HOY Studios project of mine but I will still post my content on this website as well. =)

Dream Big

Everyone has a dream.  I sure do. These friends of mine have taken a great step to bring their dreams closer to reality.  The dynamic beats of Justin Santos along with the inspiring instrumentals of Eric Sorio combine together to form up “Striketenz“, a young beat making duo looking to make a name for themselves.

As members of the website Talenthouse.com, these two came across a contest where they will produce a track in hopes of winning a chance to work alongside Ryan Leslie himself.  They are up against a lot of great talent out there, but with your help, they have a chance at a once in a lifetime experience.  Like it or not, I can personally say that these are two hard working individuals who do what they love and have a definite way with music.

Word gets ’round

Hey guys! Just a quick update here. Our Valentine’s Day photo shoot was a huge success! We took a lot of wonderful pictures of our friends and a bit of experience is under our belts for that sort of event. We’ll definitely have more of those in the future. Check out the flickr for the pictures when they do get uploaded or check out our side feed bar for the latest flickr updates.  If you like what you see and you are in our area, feel free to send us an email for information about our side services.

It seems like word has been spreading pretty well for us! We have been granted the opportunity to take baby pictures for a newborn, long needed family portraits, and photo/video coverage of a debut. These will all be coming soon.

On the video side, I posted up a video showing what went down during our V-Day shoot. Also there are going to be videos that I’m doing for my organization on both the HS youtube and the UTSAFSAtv youtube channels. I’ve decided to help out my organization and make sure that the have something to look back on. What can i say! I love that organization.

In hopes of giving more to my respective community, I’ve decided to finally try to get a spot on the BakitWhy.com team as a video producer or contributer of some sort. I’ve been looking around and I really do like this community. I think it’ll give me a steady schedule of content to produce and allow me to pace myself while having a deliberate purpose. I’m excited. I sent an email out today so I’m  hoping to get a response soon. If you’ve never checked out the website then feel free! They have a lot of great content.

New Video: Inspiration

So uh…I finally decided to start and finish a short video for once. It’s a little video about finding inspiration for whatever it is that you do and then embracing it. This is very important especially to people like me. At time’s I’d get writers block or just flat out lose motivation to continue practicing my craft. Thats why its so important to find something to motivate and inspire you and then use that to grow and inspire others. Valentine’s Day shoot still around the corner and we’ll have that content up in a jiffy! Thanks for all the views whoever bombarded our site today haha!

Just order myself a 1000 watt softbox and can’t wait to try it out at Hoy Studios Valentine Day PhotoShoot. Hope this first official Hoy Studios photoshoot turns out good, because it would be a good opportunity for us to get our name out there and get more gigs!

Valentine’s Day Promotion!

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and we have decided to extend a special promotion to our friends in San Antonio. On Friday, Feb. 5th we will be setting up in San Antonio to take Valentines Day Portraits. The main theme is red and we’ll mostly be using a red backdrop to fit the occasion.  This is free of any service charge. All you pay for is the cost of the pictures developed. We have decided to outsource all our printing needs to Precision Camera & Video in Austin since their quality is tip top. We’ll have more details about this soon.

New Year, Fresh Start

It’s been a good while since anything was posted on here huh? Well let me get started by apologizing for the lack of content.  I know that a Christmas video was promised and that fell through.  I honestly couldn’t come up with an idea that I was completely pleased with. I’ll try to be more open minded with letting my stories pull through. We have some pics that will be posted up on the website soon from our winter trips. I got a chance to enjoy New Jersey and New York while Kimchee went to visit the slopes in Colorado.

For photos, Kimchee took the liberty of upgrading us to a premium Flickr account so that we’ll have unlimited uploads. We’re also going to register the domain and flip this over to hoystudios.com…which sounds much better =).

In hopes of having a steady stream of video content, I’m going to start a mini series thats going to be based on my organization at school.  The stories are going to be based on experiences that occur stereotypically to members of this group.  I’m hoping to form a small fan base with my own organizations but try to tailor the stories to where anyone can relate to them. That is the best thing about stories isn’t it?

In an attempt to tend to a bit of philanthropy, I encouraged both of us to install a nifty new program onto our ipod touches called “Cause World.” In case you haven’t heard of it, the organization that developed it has received/raised a nice wad of money to donate to various causes.  The part that you play is choosing where it goes. In order to influence where the money goes, you have to visit participating stores. Each store gives you “karma” and that is what you use to donate to causes. At the moment I’ve personally been donating to reducing our carbon footprint. If you have an iphone or itouch i definitely recommend checking this app out!

We finally have content from both of us! Its a little confusing now since the flickr account and the youtube acount have a zero for an “oh” instead of an actual “oh” but the wordpress and email use “oh’s”…I hope it doesn’t get too confusing. Either way there are quick links to use.  =)

The pics I posted are some of my personal favorites [hence the title "Kimchee's Favs"] that I took from place to place. I’ll definitely have more up to show you what I can do but we’re being cheap right now. We haven’t decided if/when we wanna start paying for premium accounts on flickr and wordpress XD. Most likely we’ll end up putting up the cash.

Oh yeah…Bobo finally has an idea for a Christmas video so we’ll be working on that soon.  Sorry for the laziness =\.
